Ras Madrakah is an excellent day-trip opportunity for anyone visiting Duqm or on the way to Salalah (through Hasik).
The place offers fantastic camping spots overlooking black mountains and golden sand beaches. Also great bird spotting and off-roading, with nice weather even during the hot summer months.

This is a place that I would highly recommend visiting for any nature lover living in Oman. You will spend at least 5 hours driving there from Muscat, so plan your escape well.

Nested between magnificent mountains this is a perfect location to enjoy a great sunny day or an overnight stay.

Pros: the whitest sand in the world, beautiful beaches worth visiting anytime of the year, Hyams Beach, Booderee National Park, Honeymoon Bay, Point Perpendicular, and few other interesting places to visit nearby including Pigeon Mountain in Morton National Park Cons: busy during public holidays

It’s quite challenging to find a comprehensive recommendation or a list of what to visit in Salalah and around. The best time is obviously around Khareef (monsoon) season, which is an unique chance to experience rain and fog in Oman.
