Wadi Mangal – solitude, lone hermitage and a green waterfall ***

This Wadi is off the beaten path and even on Saturday I didn’t come across anyone, just a few local people extracting some stones from the wadi. If you plan on visiting Wadi Dayqah Dam and wanting to add a bit of adventure, this is the place for you. Here is the start of the trail and my map. I also had a chance to use my GoPro8 for the first time – see the results here.
Key highlights of the trail:
- Beautiful (green) waterfall at the end of the trail
- Farms on both sides of the wadi – I have heard it’s a tough life here as no electricity nor mobile reception
- A little old hut (hermitage) on top of a hill – handle with car as it’s accessible only for experienced hikers
- Interesting geological formations, including folds
